Mt. Fuji Sabo Facility Tour

- Osawa Alluvial Fan Project Site and Yui Landslide Project Site -

We have maintained Sabo facilities which are the largest scale in Japan to prevent from sediment-related disasters at the lower reach in Osawa alluvial fan.

Osawa Alluvial Fan Project Site Tour:
In the Osawa Failure, it produces about 150,000m3 debris in a year. In heavy rain conditions, it changes into debris flows and often hits the downstream area of the Osawa River. We, the Sabo facilities, have installed a system that catches and controls debris flows to protect the lower area. As a part of the Sabo facility maintenance projects, we remove debris and sediments for the next debris flow.

Yui Landslide Project Site Tour:
In the Yui district, Shizuoka Prefecture, we have installed caisson piles as control works, drainage wells, drainage tunnels, and restraining works to prevent any massive landslide disasters that could be caused by heavy rain or downpour and any earthquakes in the Tokai region.
