Sediment that has flowed out from the Osawa Failure will accumulate in sabo facilities such as alluvial fans.If this sediment is left unattended, it will flow out to the downstream area when the next debris flow occurs, causing a sediment disaster.As a countermeasure, we are working to remove stones to maintain the function of the sand basins and adjust the construction period using the stockyard.

The grain size of the generated earth and sand is a mixture of large and small earth and sand ranging from several mm to megaliths of 2 m or more, which does not match the demand of the recipient, making effective utilization difficult.

In order to expand the number of recipients and make effective use of them, we have been implementing a collaborative project since 1998 to have the recipients transport the soil with particle size treatment such as sieving and crushing.As a result, it is used in many public works projects such as beach nourishment materials on the coast and road body materials.
