Komitake Volcano　（Hundreds of thousands of years ago）

Hakone volcano and Ashitaka volcano started to be active hundreds of thousands of years ago, and Komitake volcano erupted around the same time.

Komitake volcano ejected a large amount of andesite lava, volcanic ash and gravels every time it erupted, and with multiple eruptions repeated, it eventually reached 2,400m.

At the end of the Subaru line on the North side near Izumidake Shrine, you can see the andesite rock thought to be the top of Komitake volcano.
